I know a little place

Because I'm trying to spend less, when I shop I am often buying from big retailers. If I'm not hunting online, I'll probably be at PakNSave, or Mitre10, or another big box shop. But in the last few weeks I've shopped at little places several times. Why? Trip number one was at a little greengrocer a couple of blocks from my house. And that's most of the reason just there. I was out of fruit, there weren't any greens ready in the garden, and the other close alternative was the offensive supermarket. If I'm honest, another reason is I feel a bit sorry for them. I know a marginal business when I see one. And their prices aren't too bad. And sometimes they have very local, fresh things that are genuinely better. Is that enough? I could have waited until I needed enough other things for a longer trip to be worthwhile, and gone without for a day or two without malnutrition setting in.
