Cafe windows.

When you have a camera in your hand and a photographer’s eye, windows are no longer windows. Windows are mirrors, and kaleidoscopes, and liminal planes, and filters, and sheer dissectors and image reflectors. I took the main photo with my new camera (Ricoh GR IV Monochrome). It’s a tiny pocket-sized thing, an everyday carry. With no viewfinder, and only shooting monochrome, it is a simple, quality, point and shoot. Unlike my Fujifilm, I can travel light with it in my satchel, ready to spring into action if and when the decisive moment presents itself. Anyways, this is one of the first photos I took with it. Snug up in a nook next to a cafe corner window, I shot through the interior and out. Composing the scene on the small LCD screen, I didn’t really think it was going to be much…..but I am very pleased with the details, the layering, and the contrasts. There is a lot to see in this picture. I think I will give it an 8.8/10. Not bad for a new rig.
