The new look

As you may have noticed, the site has a new look. I don't think of it as a new version of the site, in no small part because the structure has not changed at all. This is mostly a very messy conglomeration of two template files and a bunch of JavaScript and CSS applied to the same underlying build script and content taxonomy that I've been very happy with for quite a while. There was a very oblique reason for this change, which was my friend Ryan asking for a blogroll of folks whose writing I enjoyed. I couldn't figure out a nice way to surface this, even though I did have it in my site's repository already. So one thing led to another, and here we are. This is certainly not the greatest implementation of this kind of idea that has ever existed, but the thing that I like about mine compared to many of the others that I've seen is that I get to take advantage of what is approaching a decades-long corpus of writing and thinking — much of it sloppy, but all of it mine.
