What’s the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done? Nice try, but I’m not turning my blog into state’s evidence. If I were to recount the most spontaneous things I’ve ever done, this post would read less like a casual musing and more like a tell-all memoir. We’re talking about the kind of decision-making that makes my current self stare at my past self in absolute disbelief that I managed to survive into full adulthood. Back then, “spontaneous” meant deciding at ten years old that because I had seen a horse before, I was fully qualified to climb onto a random, unbridled horse standing in a pasture minding his own business. It meant agreeing at two in the morning that following a group of total strangers to a secondary location was a completely reasonable side quest. No plan. No questions.
