The Late Great Will Murray

I have put off writing this eulogy, as I knew it would be difficult to write. Will Murray was not a close friend, but he was an acquaintance whom I regarded with a good deal of warmth. There is no doubt that Will was the foremost expert on Doc Savage and the heroic pulps in general. He was also a prolific writer of fiction, writing everything from many The Destroyer novels to Doc Savage novels to works featuring characters from The Spider to Tarzan. Comic books fans may know him as the co-creator of the Marvel Comics character Squirrel Girl with artist Steve Ditko. Sadly, Will died suddenly on August 25, 2026 at the age of 73.Will Murray was born on April 23, 1953 in Boston, Massachusetts. He spent his early years in the Jamaica Plain neighbourhood and spent the rest of his formative years in Quincy, Massachusetts.
