Day 222: Bag of Tricks for the Street

2026-09-16Hello!I waited for a decent amount of time for something interesting to happen at this location. I had convinced myself that if I could get a good photo out of a dull store on the corner of a block, I would buy myself a bubble tea drink.I waited for interesting cars to drive by, or interesting people to walk past. Yet nothing like that occurred. On the one occasion that someone did walk past with colored clothes, a truck came by to block my view. Bad luck there.So after waiting long enough and my impatience growing, I set the shutter speed to a quarter of a second, which would be long enough to capture interesting motion, if not interesting subjects themselves.Long exposure is one of those tricks in my bag that I pull out when the time is needed, but I don't have stable enough hands to do anything longer than a second! I'm sure the fancy modern cameras have decent stabilization, but I wonder if that would get in my way in the times I don't need it.In the end, I used up so…
