30 Years In Development — The First Trailer for Brad Bird’s RAY GUNN Has Arrived

Netflix / YouTube: Academy Award winner Brad Bird, the visionary director of The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and The Iron Giant, brings you a whole new world to investigate… In Metropia, a gigantic city in an alternate future as seen from 1939, private eye Raymond Gunn (Sam Rockwell) is drawn into a case involving aliens, murder and a multimedia star named Venus Nova (Scarlett Johansson). Watch Ray Gunn – in select theaters December 4 and on Netflix December 18. Ohhhhh boy am I excited for this one. The Iron Giant, The Incredibles and Ratatouille are three of my favorite films of all time, and I am an absolute sucker for the retro-futuristic aesthetic (note the icon here). That said — more often than not, Netflix movies feel “less than”, so I hope this is one of the examples against it where they have something special locked in. We’ll see this December!
