The College Board’s Answers Don't Add Up by Neetu Arnold (city-journal.org) Currently, 37 states require public universities to award credit to students who score a “3” or higher on an AP exam. According to Neetu Arnold, writing for City Journal, “37 states require public universities to award credit to students who score a ‘3’ or higher on an AP exam.” That note is consistent with the College Board’s position. Back in 11th grade way back when, I took four AP exams, all without the benefit of studying or having corresponding AP classes. I had two 4s and two 3s. Brooklyn College ultimately gave me 12 credits for the two 4s (which also got me out of “English 1”), but nothing for the 3s. Was I robbed? What is this? I’d have been done at least one semester earlier with 12 additional credits for the 3s. Persecution!
