Week notes 2026-38

I'm sitting here in front of my desktop PC to type this, fresh from grocery store-bought dinner; beside me is my mid-2012 MacBook Pro, booted to Linux Mint from USB (it hasn't been installed yet, it's just the live drive). I have some tinkering to do; apparently you need to install a WiFi driver for this thing. Hmm. Today I drove from my in-laws and had a couple of funny things happen: I encountered a driver who was driving extremely fast (probably 115-120 kmh in a 90 kmh zone), and eventually got way ahead of me. A few hours later, when I was in the city, I passed them. A little later in the day, I took our other car out and "stretched it out" on the highway, as it had been sitting for a week without being driven. As I drove by, I passed a transport truck I remember passing an hour or so earlier outside of the city. I'm amused by these little things.
