Late greeknotes this weekend because I spent all of the late afternoon and evening yesterday in a new taverna (Τσιπουράδικο «Tam Tiririm») in nea ionia eating meze and drinking beers in the sunshine. Very friendly, new and hip, on a quiet-for-athens street overlooking a big church. dakos, giant beans, honey’d cheese, politiki salad, chickpea thing at Tam Tiririm Well deserved, after a warm 15k run at lunchtime, from home in the north nearly to piraeus in the south. One of the few enjoyable things about running in athens is that you get to explore new places, in this case, Kallithea, south of the center, v pleasant and leafy. As the temperatures have dropped I’ve been able to get back into running, 2 x 10ks and 1 x 15k this week. I still have to go in the mornings as the evenings remain hot. A bespoke peinirli just for me 🥰 I’d spotted that new taverna on wednesday, after visiting nea ionia to go to the best bakery in athens for a peinirli, then going for falafel/halloumi souvlakis,…
