I have managed to have far less pain overall than in a long time. I was pain-free and able to watch multiple hours of TV without twitching and and hurting in the evening for the first time in a long time. I’ve gotten some of the additive elements — the risk factors like barometric pressure, and stress that increase the odds that I’ll be in pain — documented and even under control enough that it also makes it less likely for me to cross the threshold, and when I do end up having pain, it’s 1-3 points less. (1) But as the obvious negative factors get accounted for, I’ve also had a couple unsettling realizations: In addition to sensory overwhelm and negative stress, enjoyable things can also count as stressors. And those stressors may include, but are not limited to, sensory processing issues and sensory overwhelm. I knew that much already. But now I also know it’s not… No comments yet.
