Fortunately, commenter Quirkz has provided some material to tide us over: A completion of Citadel: Adventure of the Crystal Keep (1989), a Wizardry-inspired game for the Macintosh that I "tried" over eight years ago. I got frustrated, probably too quickly, with various interface elements and a combat system I couldn't quite figure out. When I "throw" a game like this, I appreciate it when commenters urge me onward, but I appreciate it even more when they step in and help.
