Day 5: A More Varied Landscape 0 ▲ Longstride: Trail Journals 3 days ago · Life · hide · 0 comments A beautiful day saw a lot more forest than prior days on the Pieterpad. The breakfast I ordered yesterday was delivered right on time, and was simple, but tasty. (A piece of bread, two heated rolls, cheese, ham, butter, jelly, and a hard-boiled egg.) Thanks to that and not having to deal with my tent this morning, I left camp right around 9, my earliest start so far. Back on the trail, I continued through the line of trees, then zig-zagged under a highway and followed a road for a little while until the trail turned off onto a dirt road in the space between a field and parkland.Morning Path × Morning PathFarmland × Farmland For some reason, I got the impression that the trail felt more remote this morning than on prior days. I guess it’s a reasonable thought since the only town the trail passed through today (in the afternoon) was pretty tiny. I passed a couple herds of mostly white cows this morning, before the trail went into what seemed like protected parkland.A Herd of White Cows… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
