The big oak tree in my garden is bullying me. Every time I rake up the leaves, I turn around to put them in the compost, and boom! New heap. To add insult to injury, it sometimes dumps leaves on my head while I clear away the old ones. And every time I can hear it laugh like a maniac. It keeps coming up with new leaves to throw at me too! Does it steal them from other trees? Create them from the ether? How else do you explain the five truckloads of leaves I've removed already? I guess you could say it's all my fault. I kind of insulted it in spring by carving a heart in it, for me and my now ex girlfriend. I know. It's mean to do that to an old tree that has lived in the corner of the garden for hundreds of years. My grandmother told me that it was magic and I didn't believe her. And now if you'll excuse me, I have another load of leaves to clear away. Please stop punishing me. I was just a stupid young boy who thought he was in love. Stop laughing! Oh no. No, please, no more leaves.…
