Manton Reece (@manton.org) on fun ways we used to use email signatures: Remember in old emails and usenet posts how people would put quotes in their signatures? Kind of miss that. I wonder if there’s a modern IndieWeb replacement for that. I've been thinking about this as well. I follow a few people who insert a little note at the bottom of every post in their RSS feed. These notes are only visible in their RSS feeds, and not on their website, so it's like an added bonus for following. Some are simple "thank you" notes. Others include links where you can reply. Some include links to other websites, like a very personal recommendation. And I'm sure I've seen some that include a little quote. I have a huge update coming soon for the @hypertexting.com app and CLI with several new publishing features.
