I picked up Georgie early this morning and we headed up to the Friendship Cafe in Gloucester for an event by Create Gloucestershire. The topic was how to get creativity into communities in Gloucestershire, and the format was an Open Space. This means the agenda is decided by the people in the room. People who wanted to start a conversation on something would put an agenda item under a session and claim a space to hold the discussion. I submitted a topic for each session, but no-one came to my first one on digital creativity. That gave me an opportunity to attend a couple of other sessions on activities for under 12’s and another on what the community wants. Next up was an absolutely delicious lunch from the Friendship Cafe. Vegetable biriyani and somosas with yoghurt dressing. Huge pots to serve from, and plenty to take home later. In the second session, I lead a discussion about venues for creativity. This time I had four people join and we had a good hour’s discussion on the topic.…
