Day 214: Abandoned Backyard in the Shade

2026-09-08Hello! There's still a few weeks left until autumn begins, but I am so ready. Cozy colors and pretty hoodies. My (limited) wardrobe is already prepared.For now, I'm at my backyard garden realizing that I didn't put enough care into this project as I hoped. In fact, I left it to fend for itself for weeks at a time. My suspicion is that animals (squirrels?) burrowed into the soil deep enough to take out tulip bulbs, or to eat up the seed dots that would have grown vegetables.At times, I still have my camera aimed at the bird feeder to capture an interesting bird here and there. While I have captured a woodpecker and a titmouse, it's still not much to write home about.Next time, I should buy some mulch and compost. Instead of growing flowers and attracting colorful birds, I've built a home for salamanders and snakes.Finally, were you 🇷🇺 or were you 🐉? I give no explanation. I have none.
