Back in the time machine. Now it’s September 2007, which by coincidence is 19 years ago to the day so perhaps I’ll try and do one of these a month from now on. The top image is of a road side service stop in France. I only include it because it helps piece together a lot of the back and forth over that summer. Presumably we were heading back to Marseille. It was a long seven hour trip, that in the days before air con (maybe around 2000 for us) was brutal. And yep sure enough we’re back. You can see how dry it is round there. I can’t read what the sign says but usually it’s that these are roads for firemen to get through to put out wildfires. I think this might be a place called Carro. Cute little port village with a good restaurant, Lou Mistraou - sadly closed now it seems. You might remember the swimming pool from before. Well now it’s manky.
