The AI grift has reached a new (maybe peak?) level of stupid

Jacob Coxon's "whistleblowing" is a grift. The Hugging Face hack by OpenAI was because of horrendously and likely intentionally bad security practices and would have landed anyone else in prison. More real people are pushing back on data centers than even before. More companies are realizing that AI costs too much despite being massively subsidized, is horribly inefficient and even now, still largely produces shit results. To boot, open weight and open source models that cost far less to run are rapidly catching up.So what's Big AI's solution to all this? Astroturfing in unison to say that they need to slow down to try to hide their collective failures and deflect blame when the bubble pops, which is looking more likely than ever and will be more economically catastrophic than ever.I am tired of seeing this and the tech and finance media's continued utter failures to their readers to be critical and skeptical, instead providing an uncritical mouthpiece for the narcissist sociopaths at…
