The fastest it moves is when they've decided they need the bed you're taking up, when they have someone much more ill than you are to put in it instead. Yesterday I found myself just finishing my breakfast cereal when the consultant visited with a junior doctor. He went through my charts, asked me to reiterate my heart health history story yet again, and then told me that they'd be taking a decision on the need for a further operation at a heart surgeons meeting, on the coming Thursday. However, being as it was currently Tuesday, there was no point in hanging about in the hospital bed there when I could be at home instead. Although my pulse still showed me to easily kicking up to 100 plus when I moved (my biggest regular journey being walking to the bathroom and back), the resting rate had nearly stabilised at around 75-80, with a 65 being the lowest score when they did the observations round soon after waking.
