The Joy of Assembly 0 ▲ Living Kindfully 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Yesterday I wrote about "Buying Something Nice for Yourself." This is a failure on my part because I do not usually buy things. I just don't buy things for fun. This evening, I saw my wife assembling a small Lego motorcycle. She told me that she missed assembling Legos with my sons. My wife enjoys putting things together and create something in the process. As I observed her putting the Lego pieces together, maybe that's the true meaning of life. The set is not complicated or expensive, she enjoys hearing each piece snapped together. She took about 30 minutes to assemble the motorcycle. Now the set is stored behind a glass cabinet. It serves no other purposes but a display set. My wife enjoyed buying that set, built it up and showed case it. The whole experience cost less than a simple restaurant meal. This is what I missed in life. The joy of simplicity and the joy of assembly. Happiness can be simple, if I know where to look. No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
