Double Maths First Thing: Issue 6A 0 ▲ The Aperiodical 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Double Maths First Thing is changing the key right back again. Hello! My name is Colin and I am a mathematician on a mission to spread the joy and love of maths as far and wide as I can. I’m fresh(ish) from extending my comfort zone by stepping in at short notice to play a full-on two-hour set at my local alcohol-free pub – I hadn’t done a proper solo gig in more than 20 years, and (while there was still a bit of rust) everyone seemed happy enough. And it’s given me a burst of bonus confidence for Monday coming (September 21st), when the Pseudorandom Ensemble play MathsWorld in Southwark. We’ve got a cracking set lined up, and we hope to see you there! Links In “niches I didn’t realise needed filling”, here’s Ayliean reading her first sleepy STEM story (and also it’s raining). You should subscribe to her channel. Matt Zucker is running a course on fabricating tessellations and tilings, with a syllabus available here. Please do this because I don’t have the time to.
