Experimenting with a slower start to the day 0 ▲ Herbert Lui 8 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Last week, I visited the optometrist for an overdue annual check up. They gave me an updated prescription, and I bought new glasses the same day. I was also given a recommendation to use hot compresses for my eyes, ten minutes at least once a day. I put this into action right away. First thing in the morning, I meditate and put some hot compresses on my eyes. My cat often wanders over and sits on my lap. I used to start my day by rushing into routines and work, and it’s been refreshing to try something new. This practice is much slower, and I don’t mind. I aspired to drink a glass of water in the morning, but that never stuck until I started doing this practice. The day feels like it unfolds at a more reasonable pace. I imagine a lot of other changes take place downstream in the day that I haven’t noticed yet. The post Experimenting with a slower start to the day appeared first on Herbert Lui. No comments yet.
