One thing I struggle with is seeing how much worse things are today than 30 years ago. Our capitalism is unhinged, rapacious, and vulgar. Our leaders are utterly clueless sociopaths. Our technology is manipulative and vapid. Injustice is reaching biblical levels. But dang if mental health awareness isn't on fire. Now in terms of actual accessibility of professional mental health help, we're still in pretty bad shape here in the USA. But at least people are far more open to just talk about mental health, and that's really something. In the past year, I've noticed that the two themes present in all of the TV shows I've been watching: death and mental health.
