No new (or real?) jobs?

I've never had a job before and I am looking for one right now! I've heard so many people say that they are having trouble finding jobs, but I did not know it would be this hard to find a part-time retail or food job. What sucks even more is that many of these positions aren't even real. This is especially the case for Starbucks, which "rotates" job postings that are reposted about every 90 days or so. A few days after applying, I got an email saying that the position I applied to was reposted. It seems that nobody will ever look at my application. In high school, I applied to a Starbucks within walking distance to my home because I couldn't drive. After a few weeks I heard nothing back. My Mom told me I should go in person to ask about the status of my application. The cashier kindly wrote down my name and number on a post-it and promised to give it to her manager.
