Happy Engineers’ Day...but software engineers are sad these days. It’s because of AI...not because AI is replacing their jobs, but because of the hype surrounding it.We are sad because AI is being forced down our throats, whether it’s useful or not.We are sad that people don’t understand that hard problems take time to solve. You can’t just say, “Use AI and solve it faster.”We are sad that we are becoming mere numbers on spreadsheets.We are sad because job interviews are far more difficult than the actual job.We are sad that speed is the only thing that matters.
