It is really bumming me out how many self-described -- and actual! -- creatives are out there happily paying cash money for other people's "AI-assisted" "collage fodder" to stick in their real life projects. Fuck me running. The point of actual, legitimate, traditional clipart is that it's a better-looking image than you could make yourself. Leaving aside the ethics and the fact that it all looks like the visual equivalent of Velveeta -- you all have access to the plagiarism machine. Why are you paying other people to make the slop for you? In this economy? Use real clipart! Use the public domain! Use magazine clippings, as frog intended! Or if you absolutely have to have surreally polished, vacant-eyed princesses and incoherently cluttered forest scenes and other boring regurgitated "fantasy art" boiled down from other people's lifework, just ask ChatGPT for it directly and save yourself fifteen bucks and a sliver of self-respect.
