113 Seconds

In May of 2012 I was in the mood for flash fiction - super short stories. I had read a lot of flash fiction pieces, and was trying my hand at both writing it and getting it published. Here's a story I initially wrote for our writing group's Round 32, and which I submitted to an online site for publishing consideration. It got rejected because it was a smidge too long. Huge, black monitors and rows of computers lined the walls. "This is Ray, our technical analyst who monitors the Time Drive."
