I’m making a tradition of attending the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival, located in the West Coast hotbed of wooden boats. There are few places like Port Townsend, and few gatherings rival this for the sheer density of wooden boats. I’m lucky that the show is just a ferry ride (and an hour drive) away. Last year I went with my father, and upon returning my mother mentioned that maybe she’d have liked to go.
