Nutritional yeast is a strange condiment, beloved by vegans and people with alpha-gal syndrome. It consists of dead flakes of saccharomyces cerevisiae (the same glorious fungus which gives us bread and gets us drunk). Nutritional yeast is marketed as a cheese substitute.
