An early start today to meet Leah at the Market House to man a stall promoting the Discover Dursley website and the Shop Local prize draw coming up at the end of November. Adrian and Charlie were already there setting up their stalls and we had a corner on theirs. The weather was dry but a bit chillier than it has been recently. It took quite some time for the customers to build up – not very many at all before 9.30, but then they came in waves. My sales tactic was to push a shop local card and leaflet at people to ask if they had one yet. I’d say at least 75% had not heard of it, but they thought it was a good idea and took a card to start collecting stamps. You can also collect them in the market, and some did that straight away. It was a good reminder that you can’t beat getting out among people to promote schemes like this.
