Mapping 60% and 65% keyboards for Mac use

Terminology varies among manufacturers, but for this post page and profile mean the same thing: a complete keymap that remains active until you select another one. A layer is an alternate mapping accessed from within the current page or profile, usually with the Fn key. Some keyboards give each profile its own function layer, while others share one function layer across all profiles. I’ve become a fan of small keyboards. They give you more space on your (physical) desktop, and thus your mouse has more space to roam. However, they require some thought to mapping the various layers. This post is only going to talk about how to program one profile, or page, of the board. If you want to have several pages, then you can map each of them separately using the ideas in this post.
