Weeknotes: Commando — Week 36, 2026

Many meetings and events at work this week, including an interesting leadership training day where I learned how personal values manifest in decision-making. I wish I saw this years ago. I put up the fans I picked up from this & last years’ Azabu festival in my entrance hall and it’s a nice little touch that I absolutely love, as well as a reminder of two very different summers. Pizza dinner plus a walk to Osaki was a real highlight. Probably the best pizza I have had in Japan, and the first that I was super impressed by. Finally attempted a run to work. It’s possible, just about. Running outside is highlighting just how ineffective treadmill running is, because where my recovery is great on a treadmill, it’s much harder outside. I’m also worse at regulating my speed. Tackling my inner sprinter is going to be important if I want to do distance seriously. Kuro Sushi is cute, and absurdly cheap. More dinners like these, please?
