You don't need to be good at your hobbies 0 ▲ Schafe sind bessere Rasenmäher 3 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I’m lazy. Like most people (I guess), I don’t like to practice. I like to just do. I know how to play a guitar, but I barely know music theory. There are only a handful of songs I can play from top to bottom, because there are only certain parts of songs that catch my attention. I’ll learn how to play a particularly cool riff or lick and once I have that down, I’ll move on to the next thing. I can’t sing very well. I do like to sing, but I want to sing my own songs and I’m too self-conscious to just go around, practicing my own songs. Together with my mediocre guitar playing, that means I can’t just sit down next to a bonfire and whip out the guitar to regale everybody with songs, even if a songbook is available. A few weeks ago, I picked up pencil drawing as a new hobby. I’ve drawn and sketched every day for the last week, read up on body and facial proportions and I’m pretty satisfied with how much I’ve improved. But I’m a bit afraid that I’ll hit that inevitable hump in the road… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
