After retrieving toy maker Micah from nearly dying of exposure, grumpy (and perennially sickly) dominant witch Vivian and her loyal himbo husband-sub Sasha nurse him back to health, then make their dyad and triad. Much coziness follows, and all three work to solve a highly symbolic of family trauma magical peril. Thematically, imagine three people standing in a circle with an avatar of life in the middle. Life picks one of the characters and kicks them hard, then the other two people lavish that character with support and praise. Round and round that goes, a cycle of “oofff!… awww, ypu poor thing! Oof!…awww, you poor thing!” So, lots of wish fulfillment, reassurance and people being taken care of. You would think this would get tedious, but in practice it was incredibly refreshing to watch dominant characters get cosseted and see caretaking expressed as a submissive act, a dominant act and a completely neutral act… with very little difference in the actual behaviour.
