I upgraded to iOS 27 Release Candidate after the latest Apple announcement, which was this past Wednesday the 9th. I’ve been avoiding Apple’s beta releases for the past few years; I don’t find the new versions of their operating systems to be particularly compelling. “Liquid Glass”, the design language they embraced this time last year, is not as obnoxious as I found it to be with its original release, but I still find the transparency effects to be a bit much. I’m appreciative of the slider Apple now provides in settings to mitigate the transparency a bit better. Other than the slider and the “Siri” app I’m trying out, I had completely forgotten I had upgraded to the latest and greatest version of iOS. I have the same feelings about the latest version of MacOS. Aside from cosmetic changes to the OS and the evolution of technology in general, my iPhone pretty much works the same as it did nearly 20 years ago.
