It is Sunday and I’m feeling lazy, sat as usual with the dogs whilst the house is quiet. Mind racing despite the calm. Wondering too, what to write about this morning…A casual flick through recent photos reveals this one taken at Guide Bridge a week last Wednesday when Michael and I were ‘on the rails’. It struck me just how unrealistic it looked - untidy rails, cables, troughing… a barrel between the rails, a sleeper and stop sign, a plethora of signage, bright pink flowers…When I work on a composition it is about carefully balancing reality with a restrained yet realistic touch.Food for thought as I ponder my next Mosslanda project and more, continue to think about the Prairies, the Cambrian and something more modern too… such is life. Not every moment is productive, not every quiet morning relaxing. Accepting the ups, downs and all in between - and for me - understanding that through a relationship with model railways.
