I guess it’s because I was raised listening to english music. My ear is used to english words, sounds, and since art is a lot about imitation, when I started writing I imitated, and I ended up singing in english. Also, I’m not very demanding on lyrics, I like when a word sounds good in the context of the melody. I don’t find it mandatory to « make sense » in the music world. Also, since I’m not native, english creates a distance. If I write something personal, it’s the english-me talking and not the french-me. It probably protects me a little (not sure from what though). Most people can barely play an instrument yet you’re able to perform multiple, beautiful, sometimes at the same time (singing and drumming?!). What’s something you wish you knew how to do but don’t (yet!)? I play many instruments indeed, but not very well. This is why I chose rock music, you… No comments yet.
