So I don't know where yall all are but here in Tx a steak from Walmart will run you about twenty bucks a pop. Less if you go early and snag the discounted meat that needs to be cooked that day. But still, it's not cheap. Ground beef is seven or more per pound. So to feed all four kids and the husband we end up eating more ground beef, pork, and chicken. But once in a while, like every few months, we have steak. Four steaks cut in thin slices is enough for everyone to have some. Long ago I would get six steaks and everyone would have their own, but we aren't oil barons. Anyway, when we do buy steak I have to factor in the cost along with the best way to prepare it. If you go to a restaurant a steak will run you some horrifyingly high number and come out both grey and with grill marks. So when I cook them at home I do my best to cook them properly.
