Landscape Coffee Roastery, Hakodate 1 ▲ Emma Goto 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Our fourth and final coffee spot that we checked out in Hakodate was Landscape Coffee Roastery. The first time we dropped by it was randomly closed (I’m starting to learn Hakodate is a bit more chill about those sorts of things). So when we popped by a second time, right before we left Hakodate, I was glad to see that “open” sign in its window. Before visiting, I had checked out the owner’s Instagram account where he puts up the store’s schedule every month and although it’s hard to quite translate his vibe into English, you kind of get this self-deprecating, negative tone from the owner. (His most recent post - “Please use the sink in the toilets neatly. Sometimes there are unbelievable people.” Or on the topic of some new beans - “I roasted it today… but I’m not sure. When it’s ready I will let you know”). The store’s building is an interesting setup.
