I always thought of myself as creative because I was drawn to art and design1. I was fortunate enough to get a job within the design industry, creating classified advertising for an events and publishing business within the agriculture industry. Nine years later and I've worked my way up to being the head of department and I realise how far I've been heading up the wrong path. I used to be repulsed by subjects such as Maths, English and Science because they seemed to be 'boring' and 'traditional'. The promotion brought with it the managing of budgets, looking more into data and thinking about business decisions and I've found myself enjoying it. I find myself enjoying that side of things a lot more than I've ever enjoyed 'creating'. I have my art page and I like the work I've put on there, but a lot of times I find myself frustrated with the production of art, I don't find solace in creating art or design, it's an obligation not a privilege and it's only now I'm realising the…
