If you add even just one more mechanic to the Vampire Survivors formula, you can make it a lot more palatable to me. In this case the mechanic is 2d platforming, which makes routing through the levels feel like a chain of meaningful decisions. Other games have done this or tried to, I know. But Blood Dungeon does a decent job of reining in player power creep, and in the absence of that, getting better at moving around is the main way you get better in general. Meta-upgrades make a big difference, but this isn't a roguelike, so who cares? You might want the movement to be a little tighter, horizontal movement while jumping in particular, but it's fine, it functions and you'll get used to it. With that said: I kind of wish everything having to do with enemy bullets worked differently. I wish enemies couldn't spawn offscreen and shoot at you before you know they're there.
