The marines organized a stair climb event this morning to commemorate 9/11. Climbed 3 floors 38 times. They had their flaks on and one of them even had a gas mask on. I was breathing hard at the end of the 10th lap. Legs felt quite jelly by the 20th. Started sipping water from the 25th lap and finally finished reasonably good at the 38th. A good cold shower was all that was needed to feel normal. Oddly this felt a bit more challenging than last time. I was around 15 when we got the news of the twin towers. Miss Bama was supposed to be landing in the U.S that day. We’d only hear a day later that her flight was routed to Canada and someone drove her over to where she had to get to. 25 years have passed and we’re still at it! Paying the 911 tax - $5.60 for every single flight ticket that you take on U.S soil. Any perceived victory in any war is all just a mirage. 🔗
