The graphical style is pushing its thumb on the Twilight Princess end of the scale with rich, detailed textures, evocative lighting, while seeming to maintain the fantastical character designs from 1998. It's a stunner to be sure and in the same vein as Nintendo's other big remake this year—Star Fox. The reaction to the art direction and seeming lack of divergence beyond those aesthetics is much more down than I expected. Lots of complaints about the art direction, the 1:1 remake commitment, and the return of the Tears of the Kingdom and Echoes of Wisdom horizontal item selection system.1 There is also quite a bit we don't know about though. The presentation stuck to the basics and generalizations about the remake. We have no clue if, say, the Master Quest is there.
