Over this past weekend I found the energy I was convinced I had lost long ago. The world, and the United States in particular, has felt very ‘dark’ for the past 10 years or so. There is a correlation with the timing. There are too many miserable citizens of the United States that want everyone around them to be as miserable as they are. It takes a great deal of my willpower to push those dark vibes away. We all make a choice to be who we are in our life, and when we choose to consume the cheap fast food of the 24 hour news cycle, we are totally consumed by the doom and gloom that generates clicks and ad dollars. What once was a cursory focus of maybe an hour a day, technology has brought us to be the constant consumers of too many things that don’t really make a difference. I’ve stated, ad nauseam, that humans were never designed for this much information consumption. Stepping off the grid for a weekend has sparked what once felt squelched.
