9/11/2001... 25 years later 0 ▲ Thoughts of Widdershins 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments On September 11, 2001, I was 35 years old and had only been working a new job at a US Army base for about four months. The thing I always remember is that I was so focused on my new job that when a co-worker walked in and said a plan had apparently crashed into the World Trade Center in New York it didn't really register and I kind of shrugged and said "wow" and went back to what I was doing. Then everyone was flooding into the training rooms that had large screens on the walls and had the news displaying the events. So I went in to see what was happening and watched in disbelief as the second plane hit the south tower. People were freaking out, and needless to say, no work got done that day. We had foreign military officers training at the base and they were all told to go home. The base went on lock-down as the morning events continued to play out. The explosion at the Pentagon, the collapse of the south tower, then the news of the plane crash in Pennsylvania, then to north tower… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
