Tailored Coffee, Hakodate

Next on my list of coffee spots to try in Hakodate was Tailored Coffee. Conveniently this sits a short walk from the Goryokaku fort and is right near the tram station. It’s a tiny little roaster that specialises in takeaway pour-over coffee. A cup is a very reasonable 540 yen (560 yen iced), which you can choose from any of the medium to dark roasts. They also have some special light roast beans, at which point the price jumps to 1200 - 1300 yen a cup. If you want to buy some beans, the medium to dark roast beans are around 900 yen for 100g, while the light roast beans are 1200 - 1300 yen for only 50g. I think the lady working there might have been one of the owners (a later peruse of their website mentions a husband/wife team running things) which I thought was quite nice, as there’s not nearly enough women in Japan’s coffee industry.
