His first single was released by Mowax in 1993. Introduced to the UK as a representative of Japanese jazz/hip-hop alongside DJ Krush and others, Takemura maintained a unique distance from street music, working as a producer of spiritual vibes while releasing his own solo album in 1994. Then, in 1995, when the crossover between hip-hop and techno became active, Takemura enlisted Aphex Twin for his remix album. Deviating from acid jazz, his wanderings know no bounds.
