Be as weird as possible

My best response to the “horde of agents colonizing our brains” is: Be as weird as possible. One way to do this: take the Venn diagram of your lived experiences and what’s been talked about in the world. Now focus on the part of your life that doesn’t overlap. Out pops: pizza toast. As Kevin Kelly says: “Your life’s goal should be to become the most improbable person you can be.” Write as strangely as possible. The books I love the most, the ones I come back to again and again, I return to because they’re singular and of a singular voice. That alone makes them odd. How do you find that voice? Read a lot. Write a lot. 10,000, 30,000, 50,000 hours with good, well-curated inputs and concerted, purposeful outputs. Craig Mod
