A few months ago I hit age 60. I want to say it felt like any other birthday, and for the most part it did, but I realized how much my life has changed leading up to 60. Divorced, on my own again, kids grown, struggling with dating (hell, even connecting at all with women), and actually seeing retirement not as a thing in a galaxy far, far away... So much more...yet, really, I am fairly content with life. I have a lot of interests and hobbies and a brain that won't turn off, but that is not a bad thing. Never having anything to do is a total non-issue for me. Having TOO much to do, is a different story. But what is so liberating is that I have complete and total control over me now. Sure, I have obligations, but for the most part I live how I want, without excuse and without regret. Do I get lonely? Not particularly. Maybe sometimes. I would be lying if I said I didn't miss physical contact (holding hands, cuddling while watching a movie, not so much the whole sexual thing) with…
